VantaPay is the software a shop runs on — booking, payments, staff and marketing in one account. Barbershops, salons, tattoo studios, plumbers, real estate offices. You are not handing out a discount code: you are sending a business to the thing it will run on, and you get paid out of its bill for 12 months.

Already have your code? Open your dashboard to see your shops, what you have earned and when you get paid.

02The ceiling, drawn

12 months per shop. Then it ends.

It goes up here instead of in the fine print because it is the part people get wrong most often. Every shop starts its own clock the day it makes its first payment — and the first 2 months of that clock are held, not paid, until the shop has paid 2 times.

Every shop you send earns you commission for 12 months. The first 2 months are held: they only become yours once that shop has paid 2 times, and if it leaves before that they never mature. Month 13 earns nothing on that shop.

Projection at today’s prices, assuming a shop that pays all 12 months. It is not an income promise: if the shop closes its account sooner, you earn through that month and it stops there.

Nothing on that shop matures until it has paid 2 months, and a batch under $50.00 waits for the next one.

Estimate

04No fine print

All 6 rules, in full.

Every rule the payment engine actually enforces is on this list, including the two that cost you money: the 2-month hold and the $50.00 floor. If any of this changes, we write to you before it takes effect.

  1. 12 months per shop

You earn from month 1 through month 12 on every shop you send. Month 13 pays nothing on that shop. The rest keep their own clock: the one you sent in March ends in March, not when your first one runs out.

  2. Nothing is yours until they have paid 2 months

A shop that pays once and vanishes is what a stolen card looks like, and the chargeback lands after we would have paid you. So the first 2 months sit on hold. Once payment 2 clears they all release together, month 1 included. If the shop leaves before that, none of it ever matures — not less, none.

  3. Only while they keep paying

If the shop cancels in month 5, you earned five months and it stops there. No penalty and nothing clawed back — it simply stops coming in. There are no grace months either: the commission follows the payment, not the calendar.

  4. You are in the moment you finish, and we set your rate

Anyone can sign up — a person or a company, whether or not you already use VantaPay. Nobody approves you: you finish the form and your code works from that second. 10% is the standard rate and it is what this page projects; your account carries the rate we set on it and your dashboard shows it. We can pause an account that abuses the program, and the rules below are what make that rare — nothing is yours until the shop has really paid.

  5. W-9 first, and the 24% we may have to withhold

Without a signed W-9 we cannot pay you. That is an IRS requirement, not a preference of ours — we ask for it right after you sign up, never inside the form itself, and we keep only the last 4 digits of your tax number. If the IRS has you flagged for backup withholding, we are required to hold 24% of each payment and send it to them. Your receipt shows the gross, the withheld amount and the net, every time.

  6. 30 days to mature, $50.00 to go out

Each commission becomes payable 30 days after it is earned. If the shop asks for a refund inside that window, the commission reverses before the money has left — that is what keeps us from ever asking you for money back. A payment under $50.00 is not lost: it waits and goes out with the batch that clears the floor.

When you get paid

W-9 first

A commission is earned the day the shop pays its month. It matures 30 days later, provided that shop has paid 2 months, and then it goes out in the next batch that clears $50.00.

Payouts run through Stripe. Before the first one it checks who you are and holds the bank account the money lands in — about five minutes, and you only do it once. There is no card and nothing to pay, ever.

If we pay you more than $2,000.00 in one calendar year, the law requires us to issue you a 1099-NEC. That is why the W-9 is not optional.

Application

No card

Your name, your email, and two sentences about where you have an audience. That is the whole application, and nobody approves it: your code works the second you send it, and the W-9 opens in the same sitting.
